Motorama staff and management would like to welcome you to Motorama 2009. Motorama 2009 dates are February 21 and 22, 2009.Location of this event is Pa. Farm Show Complex 2300 North Cameron Street, Harrisburg, Pa. 17110 My name is Gina Travis and I am the mother of Cameron Lipscomb, the 16 year old rider that had the accident during practice at this year's motorama. I read the update on your website and have been meaning to get in touch with you. It seems as if someone has contacted you with some information. Cameron lives with us in Uniontown, Pa and attended the race with his dad and brother (from WV). I was not at this year's event. Now that things are settled down, I wanted to update you. I am so happy to report that Cameron is doing great!!!! Thank God for you paramedic staff and having the portable defibrillator..it saved his life. The wonderful doctors and staff at Hershey told us that had it not been for the accident happening right in front of the paramedics and that they has quick access the the defibrillator, Cameron would not have survived. He was rushed to Hershey Medical Center, as you know, and my husband and I had a 3 hour drive ahead of us. It was the most horrific time in my life. When we arrived he was in a hypothermic coma. He remained in that state for 4 days. Every function was done with a machine. As the paralytic drugs would wear off, he could barely open his eyes and nod his head to questions and would start moving hands and feet. Then back into the coma. The warming process lasted 2 days and then the ventilator came out and he was well on his way to recovery. The doctors deemed him a miracle. They expected a longer recovery and we weren't sure if and how much rehabilitation would be needed. Thank God, he needed none. We brought him home to Uniontown Saturday and he stayed home a week to further recover. We just went back to the cardiologist Tuesday and the report was good. We will go back in 4 months and if he is still clear on all tests..we are in the clear! Cameron is retired from motocross. He was disappointed but understands it is not worth the risk. He as very lucky and we are so thankful to have him back and whole. many families are not that fortunate. He has no memory of the accident...only what we have told him. He is back to his old self..dating, school and living a full life. We want to thank everyone for all the notes and prayers!!! It got us through a devastating time in our lives. The hospital has a care page to update family and friends..I will put the link below and it is under cameron204. If you wnat to you can visit and read messages and see some pics and such. http://www.carepages.com I hope you receive this email. I am sorry I don't know the owner's name. Thanks again for the prayers and concern. Sincerely, Gina Travis~
